Martha Marie Short, 76 of Waynesboro passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at the Chambersburg Hospital. She was born February 1, 1942 in Shippensburg, the daughter of the late Paul and Hazel (Lindsey) Worthington. Martha was outgoing, she enjoyed working as a bartender at the Eagles Club in Waynesboro for over 35 years. Martha enjoyed bingo, shopping, going to the beach and casinos, had a love for reading and being outdoors. She was a flower and plant enthusiast, she took great pride in nurturing them; she put the same effort into her family which she enjoyed spending time with. She was survived by: a son, Alan R. Short and wife Donna; two daughters: Sondra K. Brewer and husband John: Debora S. Eakle and husband Scott; a sister, Billie Jo Gardner, eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; sisters-in-law and best friends: Marion Kriner and Connie Keith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ronald M. Short. A Celebration of Life service will be held from 1:00pm - 2:00pm, gathering to follow 2:00pm - 6:00pm at Norlo Park Community Center on Friday, August 17, 2018. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
