Dr. Mary Elizabeth Stillman, age 88, passed away peacefully September 6 in her Chambersburg home. She was a daughter of the late Dr. Earnest E. Stillman, DDS, and the late Rosalie (Burhans) Stillman. She was also the sister of the late Ruth Stillman Rowland of Collegeville, PA. She earned a bachelor's degree from Wilson College in 1950, a Master of Science degree from Drexel University in 1952 and her PhD from the University of Illinois in 1966. She was an assistant professor with Drexel University from 1968 to 1972. She was a member of the faculty and special assistant to the president of Albright College, Reading PA, from 1972 until her retirement. She was a member of American Association of University Professors, American Library Association and the Pennsylvania Library Association. She was a Department of the Air Force civilian and served as Chief of the Education & Libraries Division, DSC/P, from January 1, 1960, until July 1, 1963. Her travels took her to almost all detachments throughout Turkey, Greece, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia. She enjoyed working on computers, gardening and working on any of her many personal projects. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
