William D. Newell Sr., 70, of Shippensburg , passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at the Chambersburg Hospital. He was born September 3, 1948 in Chambersburg, the son of the late Harry Newell and Louise (Fortney) Newell Keys. Bill was a member of the 40 and 8 Club, and the AMVETS Post 224. He loved playing golf but relished the time he spent his children, grandchildren, and church. In addition to his wife, Christine (Rice) Newell, he is survived by his son, William D. Newell Jr., daughter, Holly Woodcock and four grandchildren, who he loved with all his heart. The Memorial service will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Sharon Kelly Officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. Military Honors by the Charles Nitterhouse Post #1599 VFW Honor Guard.
