Obituary for Bruce Edward Chandler

Bruce Edward Chandler, 66, of Waynesboro, passed away on Wednesday, October 31st, 2018 at home surrounded by his family. He was born December 7, 1951 in Charleston, Wrest Virginia, the son of the late Sid and Audrey M. (Meyers) Chandler. He was a 1969 graduate of WASD and attended Shippensburg College. He was a supervisor for the Waynesboro Knitting Mill, an office worker at Landis Tool Co. then he worked for United Insurance Company for 22 years. Bruce was a longtime member of St. Andrews Catholic Church, loved cooking and tuna fish; but mostly he loved spending time with his grandkids. He is survived by his wife, Sherry (Helman) Chandler; five children: Shawn Souders (Heather), Suzette Ramsey (Brian “Rink”), Anissa Snively (Shane), Larry “Chuck” Souders Jr., Brandon Chandler; thirteen grandchildren: Kyle, Emily, Rebecca, Marissa, Jeffrey, Courtney, Zachary (Pappy’s best buddy), Shaelyn, Dustin, Addyson, Liam; five great grandchildren: Lillian, Gracie, Landon, Sawyer, Jaxon; Five siblings: Judith Snyder, Lawrence Chandler, Gerald Chandler, Donna Hollenbaugh, Sid Chandler III. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Brian Helman, a sister, Theresa, a brother, Allen and a great grandson, Parker Liam. A memorial service will be held from 6-7 p.m. on Friday, November 2, 2018 with a visitation from 4-6p.m. prior to the service at Sellers Funeral Home.
