R. Frances Upperman 81, of Chambersburg passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at the Village of Laural Run. She was born on Wednesday, June 15, 1932 in PA, the daughter of the late Franklin and Ruth (Hartle) Myers.
She was married to Donald B. Upperman at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in 1954, where they later became members.
Frances was a graduate of the 1950 Class of Greencastle High School.
She worked as a bookkeeper for Donald B. Upperman Surge Dairy Farm Equipment/ Upperman’s Water Treatment.
She was the treasurer for the Franklin County 4- H Development Fund for 36 years.
Frances loved spending time with her family, especially gatherings where everyone was together and enjoying her homemade ice cream. She spent many enjoyable times with her children and grandchildren and their 4-H projects.
She is survived by her son, Steven J. (Jane) Upperman and their children, Jaclyn and Lindsay Upperman and her daughter, Sharon D. (Kevin) Weil and their children, Andrew and Kelci Yap, Kelci’s daughter, Kaliya Grace and three step grandchildren; Kris Weil, Lisa (Yap) Sugimura and Gary Yap; In addition to her husband, Donald B. Upperman and her parents, Frances was preceded in death by a son: Brenton J. ,his wife, Kimberly and their daughter, Madalynn Upperman , three brothers; Joseph, Charles and Harry Myers and two sisters: Virginia Statler and Betty Shovlin.
Arrangements are in care of the W. F Sellers Funeral Home.
There will be a visitation at 10: 00 a.m. at St. Paul’s U.M. Church on Monday, July 1, 2013 . The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Rick Noll officiating. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Franklin County 4-H Development Fund, 181 Franklin Farm Lane, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
