Obituary for Mary Ann Daywalt

Mary Ann (Shepard) Daywalt, 65, of Fayetteville, passed away on Friday, March 3, 2017. She was born May 4, 1951 in Chambersburg, the daughter of the late James Vincent (II) and Betty Jane (Daywalt) Shepard. She attended South Mt. Bible Church, Gettysburg H.S. and then went on to get her Certified Nursing Assistant degree in Chambersburg. Mary Ann was a member of the South Mt. Fish & Game Club and Sheriff’s Association. She was an avid country music fan, enjoyed canning and was always doing something. Most especially she loved caring for her grandchildren, who were the light of her life, taking them fishing, mushroom hunting and spending as much time with them as she could.

She is survived by five children: Francis H. (wife, Kim) Beck, Elly M. (husband, Steven) Lapolt, James R. (wife, Bridget) Beck, Robin L. Beck, Charlie J. Mendez, step daughter, Joanne M. Kauffman; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; five siblings: James V. Shepard, Laura M. Wagaman, June M. Beecher, Sarah J. Bleacher, William J. Shepard and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husbands, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Betty L. Smetzer and Linda L. Shepard. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to the South Mountain Bible Church, 11275 S Mountain Road, Fayetteville, PA 17222. Online condolences may be expressed at sellersfuneralhome.com
