Obituary for Edward M. Brooks
Edward M. Brooks, 100, of Chambersburg passed away on Monday, October 2, 2017 at Magnolias. He was born December 26, 1916 in Monroeville, OH, the son of the late Martin K. and Lydia ( Geiger) Brooks. He worked at Letterkenny Army Depot for over 20 years as an Electronic Missiles Specialist. In his early years during WWII, he worked costal artillery at Ft. Monroe in VA and also as a radio repairman. In addition to enjoying gardening, Mr. Brooks was impassioned with a love of radio since the age of 14 and spent many years with the Cumberland Valley Amateur Radio Club (call sign W3DWI). He is survived by his son, Lonnie Brooks. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Muriel A. (Callan) Brooks and a brother, Robert M. Brooks. Services will be private. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Cumberland Valley Amateur Radio Club (CVARC), P.O. Box 121, Chambersburg, PA 17201. Online condolences may be expressed at www.sellersfuneralhome.com
