Jack Conrad Young, 91, died in his home on Wednesday, April 11, 2018. Jack was born in Hagerstown, MD on December 22, 1926 to Jacob and Tressa Young. He moved to the Chambersburg area at a young age where he met and married his wife of 62 years, Marjorie Young, who preceded him in death in 2010. Jack was a proud veteran who served in the Army during WW II. Upon returning home, Jack was a Chambersburg borough police officer and spent much of his career working at Letterkenny Army Depot. Jack had last worked for the Franklin County Sherriff’s Department until 2014. During his free time, Jack enjoyed socializing with friends at the VFW and Chambersburg Club where he was a member for many years. Jack was the proud father of four children, Sandy and husband Dick Atkinson of Waynesboro VA, Sharon and husband Dick Cave of Chambersburg, Shaun Young and wife Laurie of Chambersburg, and Steve Young and wife Sharon of York, PA. He also leaves behind a brother, Dick Young and wife Judy of Fayetteville, sister, Nancy Flory of Chambersburg, 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren who loved him dearly. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 20th at 1pm at Sellers Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one-hour prior for visitation. Graveside services will follow afterwards; family only, please. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Cumberland Valley Humane Society.
