Obituary for Richard C. Rotz

Richard C.  Rotz
Richard C. Rotz passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at the Chambersburg Hospital. He was born January 14, 1927 in Guilford Springs, PA the son of the late J. Frank and Bernice L. (Wagner) Rotz. He was a 1945 graduate of the Chambersburg High School and a 1973 MBA graduate of the Darden School of Business, University of Virginia. He served his country during World War II and was in Germany with the Air Force until January 1947. Richard was employed by T.B. Woods Sons Company for 43 years starting January 1947. He served in numerous positions, starting as a Machinist Apprentice and advancing to V.P. of Manufacturing in 1970, position he held until he retired in 1990. He was a Past Master and life member of the George Washington Masonic Lodge 143 and a life member of the Charles Nitterhouse V.F.W. Post #1599 and the Chambersburg Club. Surviving are: his wife, Barbara (Foreman) Rotz and two children; daughter, Barbara J. (Rotz) Parrish (David) of Chambersburg, son, Richard Brian Rotz (Karen) of West Chester, PA; grandchildren: Justin Parrish, Owen Parrish, Megan Rotz (Ronald) Scrafano, Daniel Rotz and Bradley (Jennifer) Rotz; five great grandchildren: Finn, Rhett and Millie Parrish, children of Owen and Sara Parrish; Eliana and Maya Scrafano, children of Megan and Ronald Scrafano and a sister, Lillian R. (Rotz) Walters of Carlisle, PA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth L. Rotz and two sisters, Hazel C. (Rotz) Deavor and Janet (Rotz) Smith of Carlisle, PA. There will be a private graveside service held at the convenience of the family. Military honors by the Charles Nitterhouse Post #1599 Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to SpiriTrust Lutheran Hospice, 2700 Luther Dr, Chambersburg, PA 17202 or the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, 5051 Letterkenny Rd W, Chambersburg, PA 17201
