Condolence: I was saddened to learn of the recent passing of 'Doc' Umble.

Having grown up during my formative years a few doors down the same street – and having become friends with Chris, and especially Jim and Karl – I always had a special fondness for 'Doc's' sense of compassion and interest in everyone (and almost everything!). No matter what he was doing at the time, he always would take several moments to ask how things were, what was new and how I and my family had been.

You could tell by the twinkle in his eyes and by his smile that his interest was always sincere and straight from the heart.

I feel quite fortunate to have known him as a neighbor, the father of 3 great guys, and yes at times, also as a kind and caring Vet for our family pets.

My Life over the years was enriched by his humor, wisdom and sincere kindness, and he will indeed be missed.
